No wonder the KKK has endorsed Trump for re-election.
In case there was any doubt about the slime this “President” represents, his awarding of the Medal of Freedom to one of the most despicable people in the country should erase it.
Limbaugh is as close as Trump could come to awarding the medal to himself. He has mocked all manner of human suffering, and he shares Trump’s obsessive hatred (actually, jealousy) of Barack Obama, whom he has referred to as a “Hafrican American,” and about whom he liked to play a mocking song called “Barack the Magic Negro.”
And of course, Limbaugh was an enthusiastic birther.
As Ed Brayton has noted, barely nine months into the Obama presidency, Limbaugh declared (with no evidence at all) “In Obama’s America, the white kids now get beat up with the Black kids cheering.” It was only a small part of his constant insistence that that “race riots are part of the plan that this regime has.”…Brayton also reminded readers of Limbaugh’s constant attacks against immigrant communities.
In 2019 alone, he said that “the Democrat party has imported the third world into this country and they have not assimilated,” compared asylum-seekers coming to the U.S. border to the invasion of Normandy, and quipped that “maybe toilet water is a step up for” some migrants.
Both CBS and the New York Times have published lists of the incredibly offensive, racist and sexist garbage that Limbaugh has regularly spewed–ample evidence that bestowing the Medal of Freedom on this pathetic gasbag makes a mockery of an award intended to highlight human–and humane–achievement. Rush Limbaugh doesn’t belong in the company of people like Elie Wiesel, Rosa Parks and Mother Teresa. In a just world, he would be shunned by all decent people.
But of course, Donald Trump is not a decent person.
This travesty is just one more bit of evidence–if any more evidence is needed–that the political divide Trump exemplifies is not between Republicans and Democrats. It is between white nationalists and the rest of us. It is simply no longer possible for voters to pretend that they support Trump because they approve of his non-existent economic “policies” or because they they are grateful that he’s been putting unqualified ideologues on the federal bench.
What Trump voters really approve of are the attitudes, bigotries and ignorance constantly and crudely expressed by the Rush Limbaughs of the world and parroted by Trump–and the “policies” that give aid, comfort and encouragement to the KKK and Neo-Nazis.
There is a meme I’ve seen several times on Facebook, a quote by a self-identified German (whether accurately attributed or not, I don’t know):”Dear America: You are waking up as Germany once did, to the awareness that 1/3 of your people would kill another 1/3, while 1/3 watches.”
In November, we will be in a position to assess the accuracy of that numerical observation.
You must face this terrible reality now. You can’t wait for November. That will be too late.

I didn’t think I’d be alive to witness a USA presidential candidate getting an endorsement from the KKK. Trump and the GOP have brought out the worst in our country.
There was a protest march recently in D.C. for the KKK, and the police escorted the members through the Capitol. The problem was, a protest permit was not filed or approved for this march. So, how did the Capitol police know there was a march that day?
Many concluded that members of the KKK rally were also cops warranting a police escort through our Capitol. Thus, they wore masks covering their faces entirely.
We see the emergence of “brown shirts.” Those who will step in to stop the counter-insurgency when it comes, and it will come.
Joe Biden is dead in the water, so Bloomberg will become the emphasis of the DNC in stopping Bernie Sander’s movement. Tom Perez has already put into place a mechanism to award the presidential nomination to whomever the DNC donors choose.
The will of the people via national elections will be tossed out in favor of a status quo candidate who will lose to Trump. The “vote blue no matter who” strategy will fall flat on its face because it was always going to be, “vote for the DNC chosen candidate.”
Democracy has failed. The republic has failed. Capitalism killed them both.

Back in 2005, I flew to New York to meet with the playwright Rudy Gray and view his off- Broadway, award winning play: “Conversations with a Kleagle.” It was a play about Walter White, one of the founders of the N.A.A.C.P. Although White was African-American his skin was whiter than mine and could easily infiltrate the K.K.K. and he did. That’s what the play was about.
I just had a feeling there was something important in his play and there was. In one of the scenes, the Kleagle in this small southern town spoke the following words to Walter
White: “It’s those Nigger love’n Jews, they’re the real problem.”
Rudy Gray, who at the time was an African-American Professor at NYU, understood racism and anti-Semitism at the deepest level. Put it to the Jews and you can take care of African-Americans as well [and now it includes everyone else on their rotten list].

I can’t let another day go by without mentioning the dumpster fire that is our Department of Justice. Barr is going after Sanctuary cities by denying them grants and filing suits against them. He announced that any investigation of a Presidential candidate must be approved by him personally (I’m guessing no investigation of the Republican candidate will be approved). He put his own guy in charge of the US Attorney’s office in DC , just prior to announcing that he was overriding the sentencing recommendation for Roger Stone. I hope Judge Berman Jackson sticks to the law and doesn’t fall in line with the new recommendation. Topping all of that off with giving a huge grant to Hookers for Jesus to combat sex trafficking, denying funds to Catholic Charities for no good reason.
Never thought I’d say I really miss Jeff Sessions.

I had to quit watching the SOTU when the medal was afforded to limbaugh, I got physically nauseated. This is a very sorry state for our country, and yet the supporters of DJT just can’t seem to open their eyes to any of this. The similarities to Nazi Germany have screamed out to me, and I have never been a political follower until now. Yet I get vilified for saying such a horrible thing, to compare the POTUS to Hitler…..how dare I have no respect for the office of Presidency. My heart hurts, my stomach is queasy, but should this horror of a leader decrease or lower my SS or Medicare, I am driving to DC to protest and have room for 6 more in my car!
We must organize RIGHT NOW like the diversity within DESERT SHIELD against Saddam Hussein, which was all-inclusive, even Israel and other Middle Eastern countries were together [the enemy of my enemy is my friend] then Trump, Pence & Bannon will be in an inescapable quandary against 40% of the population instead of against the Jews who are only 2%.
If we can form an all-inclusive organization, as I have briefly outlined, then we will be in a position to close the GAP in the PLURALISTIC LINE created by the MODUS VIVENDI between the SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION and the ANTI-DEFAMATION LEAGUE/SOUTHERN POVERTY LAW CENTER ALLIANCE, which TRUMP has been taking advantage of since the beginning of his campaign for the Presidency.

This was a photo shop, I checked who Obama awarded the Medal of Freedom to. This “photo” was used to make totally derogatory comments about Obama liking sexual predators.
One thing we can be certain of as long as some Trumpeting Right Wing lie can be spread, the Trumpter’s will pass it along without the slightest inclination to fact check as long as it fits their narrative of reality.

But, you nailed it again. I’ve been saying the same thing for years, and it usually falls on deaf ears. In Germany, once they dismantled the Jews, stole their businesses, monies, properties, art, and then their lives, they went after everyone else. One of the biggest and most successful propaganda programs against the Jews was how Jews shortchanged German farmers. Now, this was ridiculous because the government mostly controlled where produce was sent, but they claimed that Jewish businessmen would wait until the end of the day at produce markets and then swoop in and buy most of the merchandise. Then turn around and market way up to put an undue burden on the average German household. Right there, was the pocketbook issue that they could use as a battering ram to destroy the Jewish society in Germany and the business infrastructure that they had created.
The government was behind the rise in cost of commodities, but blamed it on the Jews and no one bothered to investigate what was happening. They basically believed the lie and took the word of liars over their own conscience. Pathetically stupid, but in line with prophecy in the old and New Testament. Anyway, Kristallnacht was not far behind, (night of the broken glass) not only was it the organized and Nazis, it was the average German citizen seeking vengeance for perceived wrongs, and they used up being misled as an excuse. Because the Jews were so interwoven in German society, the corner grocer, the jeweler, the watchmaker, the Baker, the Taylor’s, and the bankers, they knew, for the most part, they were being lied to. Mob mentality dictated another course though. And they turned on their fellow German citizens after their citizenship was removed. That is a stain on the human condition that can never be removed.
After the Reichstag fire and the decimation of the Communist Party, the only obstacle left for complete supremacy and rule in Germany was the Jews. Kristallnacht followed a few years later. There were other groups, the Romani, the international Bible students who remained neutral, the mentally ill who were considered a drag on the economy and a waste of skin, the minority elderly, rogue priests, and newspaper editors who didn’t toe the line. Most of these died a horrific death in concentration camps alongside the captive Jewish population. But those were easy pickings because the number of all of these combined was much smaller than the Jews, so the Jews were the target after the Communists.
History is paralleled, and, right now with the Justice Department firmly entrenched behind the executive branch, and the Supreme Court effectively conservative right wing, these hold sway over states. And, with the amount of nationalistic right-wing militias across the country, the only force out there that could combat this cabal would be the military! That is why they are getting rid of so many of the old guard in the military.
Scripture does provide some hope in past examples, and faith is always more successful than brute force. Martin Luther King proved that, and he was one who took his cue from Scripture.

One of the qualities of the Trump Presidency is that his cult accepts his lies no matter how frequent, egregious, or self serving. That has been a growing problem for Republicans now for Rush’s entire career as an entertainer. Is there a truth in the timing of Rush’s career and the growing gullibility of Republicans? Why would any person much less a quarter of the country choose what they want to hear over what is true?

What better way to keep the population in line than to hold Social Security and Medicare over their heads. And what a knockout punch it would be to use it as retaliation against minorities, i.e. Jews and African-Americans! Fall in line or live under a bridge. This was done to the 1st Nations in the United States, those were called reservations. Not very pleasant, ask some of the Jewish commenters on the site about concentration camps! Look up the history of Auschwitz, Dachau and many of the other death camps. This was done right under the nose of those innocent German citizens. The interesting thing that I’ve noticed about you Marv, you’ve lived a lot of this. whether it was being a prosecutor or author or traveling around investigating history.
I learned fairly Young, who are folks you can trust and who are folks that you really need to steer clear of. My folks on my mother’s side of the family always taught me and my brothers and sisters, although I was the oldest and it seems to have sunken in a little bit better, the inhumanity that took place in the thirties and forties.
But also The butchery at the hands of the British in India and in Africa, the destroying cohesive governments and installing dictators the run the show. Same thing with the Middle East, European white Protestants mostly carved out the countries in an ancient land and installed dictators who kepty their feet on the populations necks.
The United States was no bastion of humanity, they butchered and demolished the first Nations, and also imported Africans by the thousands to work as slaves. Completely annihilating cultures, annihilating families and annihilating civilized history for most of those people’s.
You have a perspective that is unlike most commenters on the blog, and, that is always needed. Everyone can’t have the same opinion, that accomplishes nothing!

Trump has now gotten away with: 1. cheating to “win the victory” with the help of Russia, by his campaign providing information on key districts in swing states that could turn the Electoral College; 2. refusing to cooperate with Mueller’s investigation or with the Congressional investigation into the Ukrainian shakedown; and 3. attempting to shakedown Ukraine for political gain; 4. sliming Hillary Clinton, and now, Joe Biden, without any consequences.
The latest scandal is the Roger Stone sentencing debacle. There can be no serious disagreement that Trump ordered Barr to intervene and push for a lighter sentence. The original sentencing recommendation came directly from the Sentencing Guidelines of the Sentencing Commission, and was not excessive because Stone not only lied to Congress, he threatened to kill a witness. So, Trump now owns the DOJ.
Because the Republicans will not stand up to him, with the exception of Mitt Romney, who has been excoriated for following his conscience, and who is being threatened with physical harm, Trump will be out of control Even those Republicans who publicly admitted they know he is guilty, like Stupid Susie Collins (who voted to acquit because she just knows he’s learned his lesson) and Lamar Alexander (who, even though he is retiring, said it should be up to the voters, not him, despite the oath he took) , won’t take a stand. They put the Republican Party ahead of the country and their oath to protect and defend the Constitution.
Our ship of state has never before been in such dangerous waters. The fact that an unqualified failed businessman, serial bankrupter of businesses, womanizer, racist, narcissist and liar could even get elected is surprising. That he has his own network, Fox, that he consults with regularly, and which spews out daily lies against anyone criticizing Trump is disappointing. That he abused his power by trying to leverage aid to an ally, and has declared himself immune from investigation and refused to cooperate with a Special Prosecutor and with Congressional committees, and that only one Republican would stand up to him is shocking. What’s next? We now have proof that he owns the DOJ. He CAN do whatever he wants with impunity. His supporters aren’t just supporters–they are disciples. There are those who have opined that we may be heading toward some form of civil war. I hope they are wrong.

Recently, I realized the fact that I was not viewing the big picture accurately. Now I am confident that I can.
We’ve all been receiving corrupted intelligence from Morris Dees and the Southern Poverty Law Center for close to 30 years. Back in 1990, the Weisenthal Center in L.A. asked me to head up their world-wide fundraising effort. I declined. Abe Cooper, one of the two leaders of the organization then recommended that I join forces with Morris Dees.
That sounded like a good idea until, a few months afterward, I viewed the Tony Brown TV Show originating out of Chicago. Tony Brown was an African-American talk show host and was interviewing Morris Dees. I was shocked when Brown asked Dees, what about the racial system? And Dees responded he didn’t get into things like that. If he didn’t get into racial systems, how would he even have any idea of the structure or structures behind the racial systems? But maybe he did and that’s why he didn’t want to look further.
The Southern Poverty Law Center has a war chest close to a billion dollars. Morris Dees had a salary of close to $400,000. How could anyone effectively compete against that? And many of you still don’t understand why you’re “going down Shits Creek without a paddle.”
An important fact, back in the first part of 2019, Dees resigned after his disgraceful conduct was uncovered.
John Sorg and I have obtained much of our valuable information FIRST HAND, although through different strategies and tactics. We both grew up in difficult environments, to say the least. But on the positive side, that’s why we can make the right call. The accurate call.
In these times, I can’t afford to “pull any punches.”

I think we’re all worried about that or we should be. What exactly do we need in order to reinforce the guardrails? We have a fleet of incompetents appointed by the least competent of them all. We don’t want to wind up here again, ever! We’re not helpless, but what happens next is really, really important.

I know I quote scripture a lot because not only do I believe it, but it helps keep my sanity.
Make no mistake about it whatsoever, I truly admire you Marv. And, I don’t admire very many people. You’ve helped me broaden my horizons with recommendations in literature and also your works. Scripture says faith without works is dead, it’s amazing how people really don’t know what that means, but I do.
Concerning the Christians, when the apostle Paul mentioned works and faith, he was referring to, The works towards Christ. Because there were those whom despised Christ, and never accepted him while continuing to have faith in the Mosaic law. Everything that went along with the Mosaic law, tithing, blood sacrifice, the Sabbath, amongst many other things, Christ didn’t command it to be kept.
So, Christ said that the whole law hangs on love, love for your fellow man and to love God. And Christ’s works were to go out and spread Christ’s law and his teachings.
So we can have faith, but not works. And that’s dead! If I have faith in Christ, but I do not work to spread his laws, if I don’t act as an apostle to make disciples in Christ, then that faith is dead. Just as a person who is of the Jewish faith, but does not carry out the works of the Mosaic law, then that faith is dead.
You are a good man Marv, and you have a huge heart, and also a well-trained conscience. on top of everything else Marv, you have a lot of life experience which gives you knowledge and combined with everything else that gives you wisdom. you might not have King Solomon’s wisdom, LOL, but you do have a lot of wisdom.
Not a single man or woman on this planet has been born outside the veil of sin. We know this, because our faith along with our works is strong. We believe it. We believe that the first man Adam did not keep God’s commandment and paid the price. The law of Moses provided a way of repentance and that was the blood sacrifice on the altars.
The Christian faith provided repentance by the blood of Christ and presenting ourselves everyday as a visible sacrifice by keeping his laws and doing his work.
The apostasy that has permeated much of the Jewish faith and almost all of the Christian faith was foretold throughout the Old testament and the New testament.
There really are not many true men of Faith out there Marv, I believe you are one of them. You still show it by your works. We are all imperfect, but, by faith we try our best to keep God’s commandments until that time when he chooses to change things.
I could go into detail about that, but I’m sure you’re aware of all of that yourself, and besides, Betty is just going to get mad, LOL.
We are still Brothers Marv, under the same God, loving the same God, we are just in different chapters. If we keep on doing the works, and always remembering to personally convey our hopes and desires to our creator, on a daily basis, things will work out in the end.

All: We’re in a heap o’ trouble, as you have noticed. Another of my heroes is Jon Meacham, who said in his talk at Square Books, that our guardrails would keep us on the road, though we may swerve and careen right (like now) and left. Meacham said that ultimately we will be OK because of what’s in place already. That was a couple of years ago. The guardrails have been ignored and obliterated. Thugs and incompetents are running the show. What can be put in place so that this will never, ever happen again? If we are to survive as a democracy, there must be some way to defend ourselves from this disgusting stuff before it happens, not after. The voting booth will have a lot to do with our next move.

The one thing I’m sure of is that I’m going to challenge both the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League in the next few weeks over control of the valuable INTELLIGENCE that is needed to retain some semblance of equilibrium in the political arena during and after the Trump Era.
