  1. The fact that old is a time of life that has its share of times that suck is a growing refrain among our old cohort. But, as they say, this side of the grass makes it preferred by 9 out of 10 people.

  2. Sheila, sending encouragement and hope for the days to come, from a fellow survivor of back injury. As one of the other members of your circle said last week, even with a cracked vertebra, you have more backbone than anyone in the limp, weak-kneed MAGA movement who daily capitulate to authoritarian bullying. You are a pillar of energy and vision. Thank you for all you’ve done and are doing. Courage!

  3. Much as we appreciate and respect your daily doses of wisdom, we hope you just rest and concentrate on getting well now. Looking forward to seeing you healed and back in action!

  4. When I had back pain my physical therapy was 100% required to feel better. Hope you are able to do what you need to for a full and healthy recovery.

  5. I echo all the above, Sheila. Take good care of yourself and be patient. As long as it takes, your return will be cause to celebrate the return of the sane, savvy and informed opinions you give to us.

  6. When You’re Gone……

We miss you when you’re gone.
We miss the sparkling light you shine
into the shadowy corners of our days.
You’re not up to being your amazing self,
and although we know this is temporary,
we selfishly want you back, right now.
We need your bright spirit, your love of life
to lift us up, as you always do, effortlessly,
    just by being you.
Please take care of yourself and recover soon.
We miss you when you’re gone.

  7. Linda said it best though my sanity will suffer from malnusheila. As we say to our uncooperative pups: HEAL!
