Today

I recently saw a FB meme that said “On November 5th, the whole nation will be waiting to get the results of a biopsy.”

Today is that day.

This isn’t a normal election and normal tissue doesn’t get biopsied. Tomorrow, I’ll react to whatever the diagnosis shows, but today I’m off.

VOTE BLUE ALL THE WAY DOWN –for your future and that of your children and grandchildren.

  1. That’s exactly how I feel. Holding my breath and praying the fence-sitters lean Blue.

  2. I was worried and now I am not.

What calmed my mind are the tones of folks on CNN. My senses tell me that they switched from informing about the elections to maintaining “eyeballs” (essentially the number of people watching minute by minute through the day). If they broadcast what I think they know about the election, much of their audience would move on.

We’ve won the national election. It’s still harder to be confident about Congressional seats but there is nothing to worry about in NY there because there never has been. We are blue. Not upstate but NYC. They can muster more voters than we can and they vote Democratic.

  3. I like the “gender reveal party,” Jeff!

I’ve avoided election day smack on social media. It’s been hard, especially when I see male and female friends posting memes about God and Jesus saving Trump for “a reason.” I can’t even fathom how a woman can support Trump. He gives strong, resolute confirming details about the kind of person he is daily, yet women still support him. I also cannot understand blacks and Hispanics supporting Trump either. It’s mind-boggling!

However, I did jump on a thread from a local Republican County Councilman who supported Micah Beckwith’s statement yesterday that “transgenderism is a disease like alcoholism.” If I knew Micah was in town, I would have attended. It was a Republican invite-only “public gathering” at a library. I would have loved to crash it. A local transgender did crash it and asked the question to Beckwith about his stance on transgenders. Apparently, they are diseased. The local Republican official went further by agreeing with Beckwith but added that transgenders should be eradicated. He walked it back when I asked him if alcoholics should also be eradicated since they have diseases. Anyway, I asked him to look up the DSM and find transgenderism listed as a disease. I told him I’d wait. Still waiting…

We can expect plenty of soundbytes from Micah over the coming years as he occupies space in the people’s house in Indy. I also asked if Micah commented about his support for Christian Nationalism. I checked and am still getting plenty of feedback from religious people this morning. LOL

  4. Biopsy is the suitable metaphor. So I’m sending everyone the calming energy and best wishes I always send in these situations. And I’m thinking about all those blue-blue-blue votes I cast!! Doing my best to look forward to tomorrow.

  5. Breathe deeply, distance yourself from the fray, for now, and start writing those history books.
Gender reveal is a good metaphor.

  6. I am waiting for the results of this election as I did in 2020. Will the next morning be greeted with a sigh of relief or will it me “oh $hit, here comes WW3”?

I too cannot understand why women would vote for tfg. He is a disgusting human being and so hateful to women. I have more than a pea size brain to know better than voting for tfg.

I voted BLUE all the way down the ballot.

  7. I feel like it will be a close race as my family members that I know are voting are split about half and half between candidates. The men are voting Republican and the women are voting Democratic for the most part.

  8. I voted this morning and I was surprised by the presence of more Harris – Walz signs than Trump – Vance signs.

Now, all I have to do is sit, hope, and pray that, at long last, we will say “Madam President”.
