I really like Gail Collins. Unlike her fellow NYTimes columnist Maureen Dowd, she is snarky and witty without being bitchy, and unlike Thomas Friedman, she doesn't come across as obsessively self-regarding. She's the master of the the pointed barb aimed at an entirely appropriate target.
I Guess I Have Company…
Two polls have come out in the last couple of days, showing the percentage of Americans identifying with the GOP at the lowest ebb in at least 17 years.
Depending upon which poll you believe/prefer, either 20% or 22% of Americans now self-identify as Republican.
