A friend recently shared a picture that he referred to as “comic relief.” You can access it here, and according to my google search, it is not an AI invention–not photoshopped or otherwise phoney.
The photo shows Lindsey Graham, a “confirmed bachelor” (often referred to as “Miss Lindsey”) standing, alone, at Disney World, carrying a bubble wand.
As the brief caption notes, Graham had decided to visit Disney World at a time when things weren’t exactly going swimmingly in our nation’s capitol. The country was at war, our airports were a mess, and an ignorant and mentally-ill President was sinking further into senility every day. Graham’s decision to use the Senate recess to visit Disney World–evidently alone, but even if he was there with friends– seems strange, to say the least, especially since he is up for re-election in November.
And the Little Mermaid bubble wand? I have no clue, and the internet offered no explanation…

President Donald Trump’s most bloodthirsty lieutenant has gone into damage control to try to repair his image after a magical trip to Disney World.
Unmarried and childless South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham took a break from baying for more death in Iran to visit the resort in Florida on what he says was a business trip. But the mockery came swiftly after TMZ published images of the 70-year-old lawmaker strolling through the Magic Kingdom, clutching a Little Mermaid-themed bubble wand.
When that image went viral, Graham posted what the Daily Beast called a “macho-man follow-up image” in which Graham is shown holding a shotgun and shooting at clay pigeons. “Spent some time breaking clays in Edgefield County today. Doesn’t get much better than that,” he wrote alongside the image.
It’s doubtful that the “manly” image will erase attention to the photo of Graham holding that bubble wand, especially since reporters have now uncovered photos in which the 70-year-old is seen brunching at Chef Mickey’s and waiting in line for his turn on the Space Mountain roller coaster.
Graham’s opponent in the upcoming Senate race, Dr. Annie Andrews, has said it’s “embarrassing” to see how Graham has swung from his early criticism of Trump to today’s slavish support. She’s correct: Graham initially called Trump a “Race-baiting, Xenophobic, Religious Bigot” who was unfit for office. Now, he is Trump’s most vocal sycophant, and there’s lots of speculation of what triggered that 180 degree turn. (Since he’s obviously convinced that being outed as gay would doom him in the homophobic GOP, I’ve wondered whether Trump has glossies…)
Whatever the reason, that picture of Graham with his Little Mermaid bubble wand is emblematic of the Republicans currently “serving” in the U.S. Senate, who are “on vacation” from their duties at a time when the country increasingly seems to be circling the drain–taken into a profoundly stupid war by a President incapable of planning or strategic thinking, in the midst of a Congressional deadlock that left TSA agents unpaid and airports in chaos, roiled by the thuggery of Trump’s ICE goons…the list goes on. And yet, in the face of daily disasters and mounting signs of popular anger, the Senate…. took a recess. Went on vacation.
Senators left Washington despite there being no resolution on funding DHS. They left Washington despite the lack of any effort to discharge the duties assigned to them by the Constitution, or to assert their Congressional prerogatives over the Executive branch. It wasn’t just Graham, although no one else was found with a bubble wand at Disney World. Lawmakers have been documented at airports, at Las Vegas and at other vacation sites.
My friend thought the picture was hilarious. I think it is visual evidence of the GOP’s current buffoonery.
The Republicans currently in the Senate are unserious people, and they need to be ejected from office. With or without Little Mermaid bubble wands….
I suggest a Class Action roundup of Trump, Vance and the entire group of Cabinet heads be held for mental competency and cognitive testing. There is no sign of sanity or leadership in any of their actions, reactions or rational decisions being made during this escalating illegal war on Iran.

HCR’s morning post makes it sound like there are several people wandering around with bubble wands in fantasy land and it’s getting really scary.
Congress hasn’t done any relevant work for at least a decade. They don’t legislate, they only fundraise. They all need to go.
Madame Lindsay is a well-known gay neocon. Especially his demands to wipe out every single occupant of Iran. As I mentioned the other day, ten straight POTUS’s have told Israel, “NO.”
Now, we know Clinton’s bribery material was also in the hands of Mossad with young girls, but he still said no to Israel.
So, what more does Trump have to lose if the world saw his pictures over Clinton’s? Trump was bailed out financially by Israel. Bibi has much more control over Trump than Clinton. Don’t forget about the Kushners and all the Anglo-Zionist Billionaires who have funneled money to Trump? Bibi knew he had the perfect equation to bite on another one of Bibi’s fantasies, finally.
I wish we could see a few Russian or Chinese bombers blasting into Israel and start to scatter the Palestinian land stolen by Israeli citizens. Until the US kicks Israel to the curb, there will never be peace in the ME.
p.s. There is nothing Madam Grahm could hold that would make him look or sound tough. I think Graham and Hegseth drink the same brandy because Graham was definitely intoxicated in his last speech.

Maybe Ms. Lindsey just needed a little whimsy? It’s not easy being a warmonger, you know. I think he’s being so vocal because he’s trying to honor the memory of the man who used to sing, “Bomb bomb Iran!” The late Senator John McCain was his idol.
It’s very hard to say anything nice about either branch Congress, but at least the Senate passed a bill to fund Homeland Security, except ICE and CBP. Speaker Johnson let the House get out of town without so much as a vote on that bill. He knew it would pass if he brought it to the floor and he didn’t want to upset Orange Jesus, especially not at Easter.
Praise Jesus and pray for a veto proof majority!

I hope those of you who are demeaning Lindsey Graham are doing so only because of his fear of admitting he is gay and not because he is gay. The line between the two is thin. But I agree he has earned every bit of the criticism he gets for his sycophantic embrace of Trump.
Thank you, Sharon, we have enough to disparage Graham over regarding his total lack of loyalty to America and Americans and 100% support for the current evil administration and this increasing level of Trump’s illegal war on Iran.
I, too, could not believe that Congress took a recess of two weeks. Of course, it was Mike Johnson who led it, but, surely, the members could have said no. Do they represent the president or the American people?
