Trump’s promise to MAGA –as I’ve noted before, the only promise he has kept–was to Make America White Again, with all that promise entails. (It isn’t just skin color that marks some citizens as “Other”– just being female or practicing the “wrong” religion will remove you from MAGA’s “Real American” category…)
The administration’s hysterical war on DEI and “woke-ism” has been unrelenting, underscoring the belief of MAGA folks that efforts to reduce discrimination against women and/or minorities are really discrimination against White males–that “inclusion” of women and minorities is really just code for exclusion of White “Christian” men.
Historians tell us that the Nazis were inspired by Jim Crow, that they “borrowed” from the legal structures that disadvantaged Black folks in the American south to craft the Reich Citizenship Law and the Law for the Protection of German Blood and German Honor– the Nuremberg Laws that laid the groundwork for the persecution of the Jews during the Holocaust and World War II.
Imitation is said to be the sincerest form of flattery, and the Trump administration is now returning the favor.
As many of us have recognized–and as the New York Times has recently documented–the administration’s social media posts have increasingly adopted the terminology of Nazi racist propaganda. Its posts increasingly echo neo-Nazi literature, use terminology approving of ethnic cleansing and even QAnon conspiracies, and have “promoted lyrics from an anthem bellowed by the far-right militants of the Proud Boys.”
Their authors are not on society’s fringe. They are in the offices of the White House and the departments of Homeland Security and Labor, using official government accounts.
To some people, the administration’s posts sound patriotic. Others might sense at most a faint dog whistle to extremists. Some posts may just look odd. But those well-versed in the abstruse codes of right-wing extremism hear klaxons.
Some of us noticed this in the advertisements recruiting for ICE. Ads on Instagram, Facebook and X all used an overlay with the words “WE’LL HAVE OUR HOME AGAIN.”
That’s also the name of a song, written by members of a self-described “pro-White fraternal order,” that has been embraced by the Proud Boys and other white-nationalist groups. Hundreds of explicitly neo-Nazi and white-supremacist accounts have shared the song on Telegram, an encrypted messaging app, since 2020. The white supremacist who killed three Black people at a Jacksonville, Fla., dollar store in 2023 included lyrics from the song in his writing.
Most Americans would miss the significance, but White Supremacists (and those who study them) understand the message.
I’ve posted previously about other ads and social-media posts that have included pictures and symbols associated with far-right extremist groups, and websites excluding previously pictured women and Blacks. The Labor Department has posted an image with the words “TRUST THE PLAN”– a central catchphrase of QAnon, and the White House’s X account has posted a photo of Trump and the word “remigration.” The Times article points out that “remigration” is a “decades-old European concept centered on the expulsion of nonwhite people and immigrants deemed unassimilated.”
Tens of thousands of Germans protested the concept two years ago after the country’s far-right Alternative für Deutschland party secretly met with neo-Nazis to discuss plans to implement it. (More than a dozen AfD politicians have reposted Mr. Trump’s “remigration” photo on X.)
The Labor Department has also posted a video captioned “One Homeland. One People. One Heritage,” a caption that clearly and ominously echoes a Nazis slogan from World War II, “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer,” or “One People, One Realm, One Leader.”
Experts cited in the Times article appeared confident that the apparent allusions were not accidental. One sociologist pointed to the use of “secret codes and numerological clues” in the ICE recruitment ads, which he believes have been designed to appeal to “a very specific segment” of Americans. These are “young men who live online and are disaffected by what they see as unwanted changes in American life.” The thuggish behavior of that cohort in Minneapolis would seem to confirm his conclusion.
Let’s be honest: this country has always had a significant number of Nazi and “Nazi-adjacent” citizens. In the 1930s, the the German American Bund had tens of thousands of members and held rallies with Ku Klux Klan members. In 1959, George Lincoln Rockwell founded the American Nazi Party; it employed a “White Power!” slogan and insisted that Nazism was “American patriotism.” The National Alliance, founded by the author of The Turner Diaries, spewed white supremacy and antisemitism.
We’ve had bigots in the White House before, but never one who was such an enthusiastic descendant of those organizations.
And… if we’re going to subscribe America to the Christian faith, how about following (or posting) the Beatitudes.
Good call Charlize, but the aggrieved white male pseudo-Christians can’t be bothered with doing good to others. Who would they blame for their failures as people and citizens? These pathetic wretches are terrified of those who they think know more than they do and have any semblance of being worthy of those scriptures. I don’t think the Proud Boys are an idol group. I think the Proud Boys are a big part of ICE. The way they dress and act resembles the Proud Boys’ heritage. 😉
This is part of the Kristi Noem recruitment plan. She wants to host an agency where the right-wing militants can use their guns and power legally to inflict damage on the brown and black citizens of the United States.
If you look closely at the national security strategy plan, you will see that their description of Europe is that it is non-recognizable, meaning the immigrants from Africa and the Middle East have basically taken over all of Europe. The white Europeans will be gone in several generations, according to Trump and his administration.
However, if we look closely at the anti-Semitism plan for Trump, his obvious affiliation with Israel takes over his policies of making anti-Semitism, anti-Christian, and anti-capitalist a terrorist defense.
Lastly, I read a good article last night that discussed Fox News declaring that they had discovered the leader of Antifa, who was running a safe house out in Portland. When you look closer at the individual, he’s a young 22-year-old white kid who let protesters use his bathroom and let them use his sink to wash the mace that was sprayed in their eyes. According to Fox News, this was a terrorist safe house. And since the local Portland police would not do anything like arrest the young kid, Fox News forwarded the documents of what they had to DHS. According to the article that I read, the database list that DHS has on Antifa and anybody from the woke left, like protesters, is about 25 to 30 lines long. LOL

I maintain that white American racists fear that the “others” (esp. Black & brown, Jews, and sexual “deviants”), when they become dominant, will treat whites the way they have treated the “others.”
I read an article in the NY Times about ICE use of AI and face recognition to document not immigrants, but protesters. A Milwaukee mom that had been involved in monitoring ICE was stopped by an ICE agent. When the masked officer approached the car the first thing he said is something to the effect of “Nancy, you are in our database”. The next week she was notified her TSA Global Entry status was revoked with no explanation or due process.
TSA Global Entry is a program that speeds up re-entry into the US. On our last trip we skipped a 45 minute deep line at immigration control at Newark and just walked up to the Global Entry kiosks. To get the Global Entry status we had to pay maybe a $100 fee and the appear for an TSA interview. The interview was the hard part. The appointments were all booked three months out and only at specific locations. Any interview in central Indiana was going to be a 1-3 hour drive. We got lucky when the week I was going to be in Pensacola FL last year, the office in Mobil AL has an opening.
The same agency that polices immigration also controls international travel in and out of the US and they have shown they have no qualms about targeting US citizens. If DHS will cancel your Global Entry status for exercising your 1st amendment rights of free speech, will they go farther and cancel a citizen’s ability to travel in and out of the US?
The American public has been late coming to the realization that their government has been taken over by thugs espousing Nazi philosophy, and that lateness has allowed those evildoers to build a strong wall to protect themselves and maintain their power. With every new grasp of control by the Nazi Republicans over another institution of society the people’s efforts to regain their democracy grows more difficult. We may have already passed the point where peaceful means to restore our country were possible, and the choice no longer is “who to vote for?” but rather “how much ammunition do I buy?”
I could easily weigh in on this conversation, however, it is all outside the bubble: Trump and others have made for themselves. We can all play whack-a-mole into oblivion while the man-child is obsessed with levers to power at his disposal to play with his own games. The man-child lubricates his own self-indulged eloquence surrounded by evil foster parents who manipulate every new game of the day to keep the man-child entertained and self-esteem in check. We checked in on our voter registration to be sure it is kosher. Discovered it needed to be updated. We did. We are ready to do our part to melt the ICE. Be ready to VOTE at every level of political office.

Why isn’t the media presenting the sordid details from the last Epstein files drop? Yes, the victims will be re-traumatized, but the rich and powerful should feel some, if not most of the pain. That said, the Trump involvements should surely get him impeached, convicted and sent to prison for the rest of his pathetic life.

I am just hoping there will be fair and free elections. I am hoping that the Democratic party elites understand the seriousness we are actually in. Our country is in the beginning of Fascism control. ICE will be used in ‘blue’ cities and in ethnic diverse neighborhoods on the day of mid-term elections. This has been the aim of a significant number of Republicans and the Christian Nationalists/Fundamentalists/Evangelicals who elected them.

After all, who is and who isn’t Christian? White and male may not be enough when “they” get around to it. Horrifying thought….
